Brembo Renews "Brakethrough Challenge" Sponsorship for NASCAR Canadian Tire Series

In addition to winning its first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship with Jeff Gordon and Hendrick Motorsports in 1998 and virtually every Cup Championship since, the Brembo Group has also won numerous titles in the NASCAR Nationwide Series and the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. To continue that winning legacy within NASCAR, Brembo engineered a new line of racing brakes (discs and pads) last year for the Late Model racing market, which brings the quality and high performance of Brembo brakes deeper into the racing community.

As the new Brembo product line falls within the rules package for the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1, Brembo chose to promote these new products by introducing the Brembo Brakethrough Challenge mid-season last year.

The NASCAR Canadian Tire Series is Canada’s premier stock-car racing tour. The series races nationally in Canada from Nova Scotia to British Columbia, and is in its seventh season of competition.

Beginning with the season opener at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (Ontario), the Brembo Brakethrough Challenge this year will cover the entire 12 races of the 2013 season. All NASCAR Canadian Tire Series teams that display the Brembo promotional decal are eligible to participate. In an attempt to spread the use of the Brembo racing products, NASCAR and Brembo have chosen to award the product giveaways to a different finishing position (1 through 5) at each race.

2013 Event Product Awards

Brembo will contribute the following products to the Brembo Brakethrough Challenge finisher at the conclusion of each event:

Event Award Finishing Position

1. Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, May 19 Two Discs (Front or rear) 1st

2. Delaware Speedway, June 15 Box of Pads (Front or rear) 5th

3. Speedway at CTMP, June 22 Two Discs (Front or rear) 4th

4. Circuit ICAR, July 7 Box of Pads (Front or rear) 3rd

11. Barrie Speedway, Sept.7 Two Discs (Front or rear) 4th

12. Kawartha Speedway, Sept. 21 Box of Pads (Front or rear) 5th

The Grand Prize winner will be the highest-placed driver that utilizes Brembo brakes the most often during the season based on the NASCAR tech inspections at each race. The winner will receive a full set of discs and pads for the car.
