Bliss to Make Seventh Start at the 7/8th Mile Oval (@MikeBliss19):

On a track that’s still fresh to the NASCAR Nationwide Series schedule, Mike Bliss and his team will refer to the notes of his six previous starts at Iowa Speedway. Bliss is considered the most veteran driver at this track out of the TriStar stable.

“Iowa is a great track; it’s one that you can actually move around on. Your car set-up is crucial - if you’re in sync you’ll run great - if you try something new and it’s out in left field, you’ll really suffer,” said Bliss.

Bliss’ best finish at Iowa came at the inaugural event in 2009 when he placed 14th. Leading up to Iowa, Bliss is currently 12th in the NASCAR Nationwide Series driver point standings.

Mike Bliss Appearance:

Saturday 6/8: NASCAR Nationwide Series Autograph Session under the turn four grandstands at Iowa Speedway (2:30 p.m. – 3:10 p.m. CT)

Jeff Green Hopes for a Packed House in ‘America’s Heartland’:

NASCAR Nationwide Series veteran Jeff Green will make his fifth start at Iowa Speedway for this weekend’s DuPont Pioneer 250.

“Iowa Speedway is known for their dedicated and passionate fan base for our series. It’s great to see a place still ‘pack the house’ with fans,” said Green. “The track itself is a clean, top notch facility.

Green is still actively looking for sponsorship to fund his racing efforts.

Eric McClure ‘Likes’ Iowa (@ericmcclure):

Expressed as one of his favorite tracks, Eric McClure will make is fifth start at Iowa Speedway this weekend.

“I like Iowa. It’s fast but you can still race there. It’s the ideal racetrack and the fans are huge supporters of our series,” said McClure. “We haven’t always qualified where we would like, but we always seem to be decent once the race starts. We just need to finish one without trouble and put ourselves in position to have a good week.”

McClure has already made 210 NASCAR Nationwide Series starts in his racing career and is currently 16th in the NASCAR Nationwide Series driver points standings.

Eric McClure Appearances:

Friday 6/7: Hy-Vee Grocery Store, 410 N. Ankeny Rd, Ankeny, I.A. (11 a.m. – 12 p.m. CT)

Cole Whitt, He’s Good Here (@ColeWhitt):

This weekend Cole Whitt will make only his third NASCAR Nationwide Series start at Iowa Speedway; a year ago at this event Whitt posted a seventh place finish.

“I feel like Iowa is a strong track for me, I have two top-ten finishes in my racing career there and look forward to hitting the track on Saturday,” said Whitt.

Whitt’s career best finish at “America’s Place to Race” came in 2011 when, as a rookie, Whitt qualified 14th and finished sixth in the NCWTS race at Iowa.

Whitt will make his second start for TriStar Motorsports in the No. 44 Ferguson Toyota Camry. Ferguson Enterprise, Inc. is a new sponsor on Whitt’s car this weekend; they are ranked by trade publications as the largest distributor of plumbing supplies and pipe, valves and fittings (PVF). It is also the third largest distributor of heating and cooling equipment (HVAC/R) and the second largest company within the waterworks industry.
