Pradita Hopes To Banish Mugello Memory At Montmelo

After a disappointing Italian Grand Prix that saw him wiped out by another rider after just a few hundred metres Doni Tata Pradita is looking to bounce back this weekend at the Montmelò circuit near Barcelona, Spain. The Indonesian rider made good progress during practice at Mugello and will now look to turn it into a top twenty result in the Grand Prix of Catalunya.

Doni Tata Pradita “I am really looking forward to the opportunity to put Mugello behind me. I know the Montmelò circuit well and I like it a lot so it is a good chance for me to consolidate my progress in this class. I have improved my riding style and adapted it more to Moto2 now so I am sure I can have a good race at this circuit. "

Fausto Gresini “It was a shame that Doni didn't get the opportunity to turn all the positive signs we saw during practice at Mugello into a race result. Unfortunately it was over for him after just a few hundred metres and he was very disappointed when he got back to the garage. He has the opportunity to put that behind him now in Catalunya and I am sure he will do it because he certainly has the determination. ”

Victory for Daijiro Kato here in 2001 opened up an impressive podium account for the team at Montmelò. Roberto Rolfo finished second in the 250cc race in 2002 and the following season Sete Gibernau took an important third place in his home race. Gibernau was back on the podium and one step higher in 2004, a result he repeated in 2005 alongside his Team Gresini colleague Marco Melandri, who was third. There are also good memories for the team from 2011, when Marco Simoncelli took his maiden pole position.

The Circuit de Catalunya is located in the town of Montmelò, around twenty kilometres northeast of Barcelona. Capital city of the autonomous region of Catalunya, Barcelona has around 1.6 million inhabitants with up to four million living within the urban boundaries of the city. Spain's second largest city, it is a major destination for tourists due to its Mediterranean location and artistic and cultural heritage. It is well known as the home of the famous architect Antonio Gaudì, whose work such as the 'Sagrada Familia' cathedral (which has been under construction since 1882), Parc Guell, Casa Mila – better known as “La Pedrera” - Casa Batllò and Casa Vicens can be seen all over the city. Other points of interest are Montjuic, home of the city's original street circuit, Tibidabo and Las Ramblas.
