2013 Road America: Billy Johnson NASCAR Nationwide Race Preview


· Johnson at Road America

o Billy Johnson will make his first NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) start of the season this weekend at Road America for Roush Fenway Racing (RFR). In 2012 Johnson had a solid freshman outing at the 4.04-mile circuit, starting 4th and running strong until mechanical failure struck on lap 25 ending the team’s day early.

o Johnson has three starts in the NNS scoring one top-10 finish in 2012.

· The Car

o The No. 16 team brings chassis RK-753 to the track this weekend for its debut at Road America.

· So far this season

o Johnson competed earlier in the season in the Grand-Am Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge at Daytona International Speedway and scored a repeat Grand Sport (GS) class victory in the BMW Performance 200 with co-driver, Jack Roush Jr. Johnson will return to action at New Hampshire Motor Speedway for his second start of the 2013 NNS season.

o The driver of the No. 16 Ford Mustang teams up with Seth Barbour, who will serve as Crew Chief. Barbour most recently worked as an Engineer on the RFR No. 6 team.


Johnson on racing at Road America:
"Montreal was a great race for us to challenge for the win and to finish in the top-10. I'm looking forward to carrying that momentum to Road America this weekend for an even better finish."
