2013 Sonoma: NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Results - Truex Jr, Toyota Win!

By PaddockTalk.com Staff Writers

Martin Truex Jr. and his No. 56 NAPA Auto Parts Toyota won the 25th Annual Toyota/Save Mart 350, his second victory in 277 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races. He breaks a 218-race winless streak - second longest in series history (Bill Elliott, 226, 2001, Homestead-Miami Speedway) - dating to June 4, 2007 at Dover. This is Truex's first victory and seventh top-10 finish in 2013. This is also his first victory and second top-10 finish in eight races at Sonoma Raceway. He is the track's ninth consecutive different winner and seventh different first-time road course winner at Sonoma.

In second, Jeff Gordon and his No. 24 Drive to End Hunger Chevrolet posted his 17th top-10 finish in 21 races at Sonoma Raceway. It is his fifth top-10 finish in 2013.

Coming home third, Carl Edwards and his No. 99 Aflac Ford posted his fourth top-10 finish in nine races at Sonoma Raceway.

Kurt Busch and his No. 78 Furniture Row Racing Chevrolet was fourth with Clint Bowyer and his No. 15 5-hour Energy Toyota rounding out the top five finishers.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. was the highest finishing rookie, he finished 27th.

Jimmie Johnson leads the NASCAR Sprint Cup point standings by 25 points over Carl Edwards.
