Bell (San Luis Obispo, Calif.) put in his fast qualifying lap on his third circuit to post a time of 51.812 placing the team seventh on the ultra-competitive GT grid. Together with Sweedler of nearby Westport, Conn., the duo like the advances that were made as a result of testing over the Le Mans break last month.

"The laps at Road Atlanta have paid dividends here at little Lime Rock," Bell said. "It is the same story in this tough GT field. We go out and put in a fast lap early in qualifying and as our competitions tires come in they go faster. The entire GT field is within a second. That will make for some exciting and competitive racing tomorrow. Our little team has this Ferrari right in the thick of the GT giants and we hope to carry some of the strong momentum from Laguna Seca where we finished fourth forward to tomorrow's race."

Sweedler likes the Ferrari on his home track.

"Together with Yokohama we have made progress since the last race," Sweedler said. "We seem to struggle in the hot weather and it is over 90-degrees today. The Yokohama tires perform best at a little cooler temperature. The tire really comes in fast, like within one lap. That will help for the start of the race tomorrow. The Ferrari 458 GT sure is fun to drive at this tight track. The team has done a great job adjusting on the car with the Yokohama guys to provide the best possible setup. We will be ready for the race tomorrow."

Eduardo Espindola, team co-owner, is encouraged by the team's speed.

"We are right in the center of the tough GT grid," Espindola said. "The whole field is very close on the time sheet which will make for some great racing tomorrow. I am looking forward to seeing a very competitive run from the Team West/AJR Ferrari."

Alex Job, team co-owner, is pleased with the team's homework.

"We have made some strides with the car since Laguna," Job said. "We had a few more homework assignments with Yokohama in practice today, but I am seeing an improvement in overall performance. Townsend and Bill are doing a good job with feedback on the car and we are in the center of the GT grid for the race. Let's see what happens tomorrow."

The American Le Mans Series Northeast Grand Prix will be televised on July 6 at 3:00 pm EDT on ESPN 2, Live Streaming can be viewed on July 6 starting at 2:45 pm EDT on ESPN 3.

Alex Job Racing is one of the most successful teams in sports car racing with 68 wins (since 1995); including two Rolex 24 GT Class wins in 1999 and 2013. This record is supported by 48 pole positions and 106 podium finishes. The team has won four championships (GTC 2012, GT in 2004, 2003 and 2002) complimented by their two GT class wins at Le Mans. The team also boasts nine Sebring 12-hour wins.

The ALMS GT Class is comprised of production-based, moderately-modified, two-wheel drive race cars including the BMW Z4, Corvette C6.R, Ferrari F458 GT, Viper SRT and Porsche 911 GT3 RSR. The GT cars share many similarities to their showroom brands. With top speeds of up to 180 mph, these elite GTs produce between 450-500 horsepower and have a minimum weight of 1,145 kilograms (2,480 pounds). All GT race cars have green Leader Light System race position lights and green car numbers.
