Kimmel Looking for Record Breaking Win at Chicagoland
With 10 races down in ARCA's 61st consecutive season, Chicagoland marks the halfway point of 2013. Nine-time ARCA champion Frank Kimmel, who went nearly four years without a win (September 2008-July 2012), is very much back on his game, winning three of the first 10 races this year at Talladega (Ala.), Elko (Minn.) and, most recently, Winchester (Ind.). Kimmel's win at Winchester marked his sixth at the historic, high-banked, half-mile oval, and more importantly, his 79th career win overall, which ties him with Iggy Katona as ARCA's all-time winner. A victory at Chicagoland, where Kimmel won at in 2003, would place the Clarksville, Indiana driver atop the all-time win list with 80. A victory at Chicagoland would also give Kimmel 23 career superspeedway victories, just one away from Tim Steele's all-time ARCA superspeedway victory mark of 24. Kimmel is the only repeat winner in 2013.

Kimmel All-Time Lap Leader at Chicagoland; Busts through 11,000 milestone at Winchester
Frank Kimmel is the all-time lap leader at Chicagoland with 173 laps-led in six races; however, he has not led a lap at Chicagoland since 2006 when he led three laps. Kimmel led laps in each of the first six events at Chicagoland (2001-2006), but not since. Nonetheless, Kimmel is already the leading lap-leader in 2013 with 405 laps led in six races. Kimmel's 158 laps led recently at Winchester pushed the ARCA icon over the 11,000 mark, officially leading 11,029 laps over his career.

Kimmel/Car Owner Duke Thorson Leads Hoosier Challenge Superspeedway Standings
In addition to having the lead in the overall championship standings by 175 over Mason Mingus, Frank Kimmel and car owner Duke Thorson lead the Hoosier Challenge Superspeedway standings headed to Chicagoland by 50 points over Mingus's car owner Kevin Cywinski. Kimmel is a five-time Hoosier Challenge Superspeedway champion, winning with car owner Larry Clement in 1998, 2001, 2003, 2005, and 2006. The Hoosier Challenge Superspeedway title is an amalgamation of points comprised at all of ARCA's superspeedway events in any given season. This year, the superspeedway title consists of races at Daytona, Talladega, Pocono, Michigan, Chicagoland, Kentucky and Kansas. Former Hoosier Challenge Superspeedway champions also include Davey Allison, Bob Keselowski, Bill Venturini, Mike Wallace, Tim Steele, Erin Crocker, Scott Speed and Chris Buescher to name a few.

Chicagoland Always a Venturini Homecoming
Venturini Motorsports was initially formed in 1981 in Chicago, Illinois, where Bill and Cathy Venturini were born and bred. Bill, whose grandparents emigrated from Italy in the early 1900s via Ellis Island, would become a two-time ARCA champion in 1987 and 1991. However, Bill also learned early on that if he was truly going to make it in big-time stock car racing, he was going to have to pick up stakes and move the family, which he did in 1993, moving to Concord, North Carolina. The Venturini family racing legacy actually began in 1950 with Bill's father, the late Tony Venturini, who raced in Andy Granatelli's Hurricane Hotrod Association at Chicago's Soldier Field and O'Hare Stadium. From there, young Bill caught the racing bug and never looked back. "Winning at Chicagoland was always on my bucket list," Bill Venturini said. "Our victories at Chicagoland are every bit as big as winning at Daytona. The two races I've always wanted to win are Chicagoland and Daytona, more than anywhere else."

Venturini Bringing the Fabulous Four to Chicagoland
The Venturini Motorsports team will have four cars entered for this year's Ansell ActivArmr® 150 at Chicagoland. Baltimore, Maryland rookie Justin Boston will be driving the team's flagship No. 25 ZLOOP-sponsored car. Their other drivers include Caracas, Venezuela's Milka Duno in the No. 35 CanTV-Milka Way car, fellow Illinoisan AJ Henriksen in the No. 55, and New Castle, Indiana's Caleb Armstrong in the No. 15.

Venturini Motorsports Only Repeat Car Owner Winners at Chicagoland
While there have been no repeat drivers that have won at Chicagoland in 12 races since the inaugural event in 2001, Venturini Motorsports are the only repeat car owner victors at Chicagoland, winning with Scott Lagasse, Jr. in 2008 and Kevin Swindell in 2012.

Rookie Ryan Blaney Another Attempt with ARCA
Ryan Blaney, under the Penske Racing driver development program, will be at the helm of the No. 22 Cunningham Motorsports Dodge at Chicagoland. In his most recent series starts, the third-generation driver finished second at Michigan Int'l Speedway and fifth on the Road America road course. "I am really excited to rejoin Cunningham Motorsports at Chicagoland," Blaney said. "Again it will be my first time seeing this race track. Like the last two races that I ran with the Cunningham organization, MIS and Road America, I am looking forward to having a really fast car and getting a lot of experience at the track in preparation for my return to these tracks in Camping World Trucks and Nationwide." Blaney is the son of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series veteran and World of Outlaws sprint car champion Dave Blaney.

Corey LaJoie Entered for Chicagoland in Car Owned by Randy LaJoie
Corey LaJoie, son of two-time NASCAR Nationwide Series champion Randy LaJoie, has filed an entry in the No. 07 LaJoie Racing Ford for Chicagoland. Corey LaJoie has just one ARCA start, at Rockingham Speedway in 2009, where the Concord, North Carolina driver finished 23rd after qualifying 14th.

Mason Mingus Leads SCOTT Rookie Challenge Points to Chicagoland
Win-Tron Racing's Mason Mingus, currently second in overall points to Frank Kimmel, leads the SCOTT Rookie Challenge standings headed to Chicagoland with 254 points over Justin Boston with 222. Roulo Brothers Racing's Mason Mitchell is third with 212, with Thomas Praytor (176) and Kyle Benjamin (108) trailing in fourth and fifth respectively.

No repeat ARCA Race Winners at Chicagoland
In 12 consecutive ARCA races at Chicagoland, there have been no repeat winners among drivers. Former ARCA Chicagoland winners are Ed Berrier (2001), Chad Blount (2002), Frank Kimmel (2003), Kyle Krisiloff (2004), Dawayne Bryan (2005), Steve Wallace (2006), Michael McDowell (2007), Scott Lagasse, Jr. (2008), Justin Lofton (2009), Patrick Sheltra (2010), Ty Dillon (2011), and Kevin Swindell (2012).

No Repeat ARCA Pole Winners at Chicagoland
In addition to no repeat victories among drivers, there have been no repeat Menards Pole presented by Ansell winners either. Chad Blount (2002), Frank Kimmel (2003), Mike Wallace (2006), Michael McDowell (2007), and Swindell (2012) won the race from the pole. Other pole winners at Chicagoland include Tim Steele (2001), Stuart Kirby (2004), Joey Miller (2005), Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. (2008), Brian Ickler (2009), Craig Goess (2010), and Josh Richards (2011).

The Ansell ActivArmr 150 will follow the same-day NASCAR Nationwide Series STP 300 on Sunday, July 21 at 5:00 p.m. local central time, live on SPEED. Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell will accompany raceday activities at noon. Practice for the Ansell ActivArmr 150 will take place on Saturday from 4:10 through 6.
