Pro Mazda Championship Race Two Report: Grand Prix De Trois-Rivieres

Matthew Brabham, No. 83 MAZDASPEED/AFS Racing

Coming to the twin checkers more than five seconds ahead of second place during Race Two at the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivieres, Matthew Brabham clinched his 11th win and 13th podium this year - both of which are new records for either in one season of Pro Mazda competition. With this victory, the American is now the Pro Mazda Champion of 2013 with two races remaining in Houston on October 5 and 6.

"What an awesome year - I could not have predicted a season like this. I'm so happy for the team and all my supporters... everyone has worked so hard and it has been perfect. I really have to thank Andretti Autosport and also Mazda for the wonderful year. I'm really happy and I'm enjoying the moment."

Shelby Blackstock, No. 28 Starstruck

Starting Race Two from sixth, Shelby Blackstock made contact on Lap 1 and was unable to finish the 40-lap race in Trois-Rivieres. The 23-year-old American remains in the third spot of the championship heading into the final doubleheader weekend in Houston.

"Overall a pretty bad weekend for the No. 28 Starstruck Andretti Autosport crew. A sixth-place finish yesterday and then crashed on Lap 1 of Race Two. The only good news is we kept our spot as P3 in the championship. Congrats to Matt (Brabham) for the championship title and happy to bring Andretti Autosport their team championship."
