Formula 3 Management (F3M), the category managers of the Formula 3 Australian Drivers Championship for the CAMS Gold Star award, stand ready to work closely with CAMS to assist in the continued growth of Australian open-wheel racing as a whole.

F3M is committed to working with and assisting CAMS in promoting the growth of a strong and sustainable open-wheel ladder in Australia alongside the plans outlined by FIA single-seater commission president, Gerhard Berger.

F3M strongly supports the concept of a Formula Ford festival proposed in the CAMS media release and will be willing to work with CAMS and / or promoters to offer a suitable reward, in the form of an Australian Formula 3 driving experience, to the winning driver should such an event occur.

Formula Ford has been a key category in developing young drivers in Australia, with several making their way from the national Formula Ford championship to Australian Formula 3 prior to progressing their careers onwards either locally or overseas.

The two most successful examples include Will Power and Mitch Evans, who are enjoying international success this year, and current V8 Supercars drivers including Tim Slade.

Current Championship contenders Tim Macrow, John Magro, Nick Foster, Nathan Morcom and Todd Hazelwood are amongst several in the 2014 grid with top-level Australian Formula Ford experience.

F3M recognises the many years of hard work invested by Margaret and David Hardy for their efforts in championing the category and open-wheel racing as whole, and wishes them the best for the future.
