The streak began at Pocono, where he finished third, followed by third and fourth place finishes in Toronto. He repeated the success again at Mid-Ohio with another third and in the most recent race at Sonoma, collected yet another third place podium finish.

Back-to-School: Last week Target teammates Dixon and Franchitti treated two families to a back-to-school shopping trip at the San Francisco City Target. The duo traded in their race cars for shopping carts and helped the families pick out must-have essentials for the school year. The Glide Foundation (a local, nonprofit organization that provides social service programs) helped select the two local families for the spree, where each of the six children were given a $700 Target gift card.

Peaking at the Right Time: Since 2007, Dixon has never finished lower than third in the final IZOD IndyCar Series point standings. In 2007 he finished second with 624 markers -13 points behind Franchitti. In 2009 Dixon finished second with 605 markers -11 points behind Franchitti. From 2010 to 2012 Dixon finished third each year– in 2010 he earned 547 markers -55 points behind Franchitti, in 2011 he earned 518 markers -55 points behind Franchitti and in 2012 earned 435 markers -33 points behind Ryan Hunter-Reay.

With Four To Go: In 2003 and 2008 Dixon took home the IZOD IndyCar Series Championship and in both years he stood in the top-three in the series point standings with four races left. In 2003 with four races left Dixon was in third in the IZOD IndyCar Series point standings with 373 markers, -12 points behind leader Tony Kanaan. In 2008 with four races left Dixon was first with 455 markers, +65 points ahead of Castroneves. This year with four races left Dixon holds second with 440 markers, -39 points behind Castroneves.
