FIRESTONE RACE HIGHLIGHT

The Firestone superspeedway spec performed well over the grueling 500 miles and helped produce exciting racing, including 28 lead changes.

SEASON CHAMPION SCOTT DIXON, #9 GANASSI RACING DALLARA/HONDA/FIRESTONE

“An Indy Lights championship, an Indy 500 championship and three IndyCar championships all on Firestone. The partnership is special. It’s great to work with everybody at Firestone. The biggest thing for us is the safety factor; we don’t have to think about tires being an issue. Hopefully we have a lot more wins together. The tires were great tonight. We missed a little on the balance in the first half of the race. We finally added some front wing and the car came alive. The balance really came alive with the Firestone tires.”

RACE WINNER WILL POWER, #12 TEAM PENSKE DALLARA/CHEVROLET/FIRESTONE

“The Firestone tires were especially good for me tonight. The best call of the race was when we put the new set on at the end there. We just motored away after that.”

LISA BOGGS, DIRECTOR, FIRESTONE RACING

“On behalf of everyone at Firestone Racing, congratulations to Scott Dixon on his third IndyCar Series title, Target Chip Ganassi for a hard-earned championship and Team Penske’s Will Power for an impressive race win tonight. It has been a thrilling season with 10 different winners and the championship going down to the wire. We look forward to another exciting championship run in 2014.”
