Lapland Ice Driving Adds Trio Of New Cars For 2014 Season

Lapland Ice Driving has further expanded its selection of high-performance cars for the 2014 season with the addition of three exciting new vehicles.

Located just 80km from the Arctic Circle, Lapland Ice Driving features exact replicas of world-famous racing circuits Silverstone and Paul Ricard, allowing participants the unique thrill of high-speed drifting on instantly recognisable tracks.

But what truly defines the experience is the selection of cars that can be tested on the ice. Ahead of the new season, Lapland Ice Driving is pleased to confirm the addition of three more superb vehicles to a line up that already includes high-performance machinery from Subaru, Audi and Lamborghini,

Firstly, the selection is bolstered by the 560bhp BMW M5 F10. A powerful, front-engined car, the F10 is the latest incarnation of the German marque's long-running M5 series and enjoys a significantly upgraded gearbox. It is equipped for the ice with 600 spikes per wheel and powered by BMW’s S63 V8 engine.

The second new addition has a sportier feel to it. While a Porsche may not seem the natural choice for ice driving, the 991 – which was named World Performance Car for 2012 – offers the perfect marriage of power and control.

Acting as successor to the 997, the range was initially launched in 2011 with the GT3 model following a year later. This features the addition of active rear steering, making it the perfect high-performance car for ice driving.

Finally, and perhaps most excitingly, Lapland Ice Driving is pleased to confirm the addition of a Lancia Delta Intégrale Evo 2 for the 2014 season.

The Delta range is most famous for its glittering success on the international rallying scene, capturing five successive manufacturers' world titles between 1987 and 1991. And with multiple wins in the snow of Rally Sweden and on the icy stages of Monte Carlo its Lapland pedigree is undeniable. Launched in June 1993, the Intégrale Evo 2 produces more power and torque than its predecessor thanks to a raft of technical upgrades.

The addition of these three cars, as well as the already impressive selection available, help to secure Lapland Ice Driving’s position as the premier facility of its kind.
