2013 Texas II: Johanna Long NASCAR Nationwide Race Preview


TEXAS-BOUND: Johanna Long and the No. 70 Foretravel Motorcoach Chevrolet team head to Texas Motor Speedway for the second time this season for the NASCAR Nationwide Series O'Reilly Auto Parts 300. The ML Motorsports team will utilize chassis No. 63, last run at Richmond International Speedway where the team finished 19th.

RACING IN THE LONESTAR STATE: In the first Nationwide Series event at Texas in April, the ML Motorsports team started in the 24th position. The 21-year-old driver battled the car for much of the race to finish 27th.

IN THE REARVIEW: CHARLOTTE MOTOR SPEEDWAY: After starting in the 27th position, Long worked her way into the top 20 midway through the race. A solid effort from both the driver and pit crew propelled the No. 70 to a 17th-place finish.

TALKING TO THE GIRL SCOUTS: Long will be speaking at an event to more than 500 Girl Scouts this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway. The female driver will talk with the girls about self-esteem, perseverance and working in racing.

MOST POPULAR DRIVER: Long eligible for the title of NASCAR Nationwide Series Most Popular Driver. The young driver will try to improve on her fifth-place finish in last years voting. Fans can vote once per day up until the deadline of November 16th at www.nascar.com/nnsmpd.

JOHANNA QUOTES: "Texas Motor Speedway is always a great place to go racing, and I can't wait to climb in the car there. I feel like my ML Motorsports team has really improved on mile-and-a-half tracks, and I am looking to carry our momentum over from Charlotte Motor Speedway."
