In a successful event for the SACHS brand, Red Bull Racing Australia claimed its fourth straight V8 Supercar Teams championship, with the outfit's VF Holden Commodores fitted with a SACHS carbon racing clutch, and SACHS Formula Matrix dampers.

Coming into the title deciding weekend, four drivers had a chance of claiming the crown, which was decided in the final race between Whincup and teammate Craig Lowndes. The final points margin was 129.

Throughout the year, the duo proved to be the pacesetters of the field in the debut season for the new generation V8 Supercar chassis package, with the pair racking up an impressive 16 race victories and a total of 36 podium finishes.

The championship was also a breakthrough for SACHS, with all competing teams supplied with the brand's dampers over the course of the year.

The on-track growth for the brand was also backed up by successfully partnering with Lowndes, who at the start of the season was announced as the new SACHS brand ambassador.

For Whincup, the championship victory was his fifth in six seasons, with all of his V8 Supercar success achieved using SACHS products.

"Number five - I can't believe it. It's a massive deal. We dedicate our lives to sport and this is what for," said Whincup.

"It's just a huge team effort. It's been a tough year with this new car. And a big thanks goes to Lowndesy. It's just as much his as it is mine. We worked really hard together on these cars and to get the one-two, it couldn't be any better."

Victories for Lowndes were backed up by consistency over the course of the championship, with the number 888 Commodore the only car to finish all 36 races throughout the season.

"Jamie has been fast all weekend long, and the man to beat throughout the whole season," said Lowndes.

"We have a great relationship, and along with the entire crew, we all work very hard to push both of the cars to the front of the field.

"We've obviously had a great season debuting the new generation car; I can't wait to go again in 2014!"

The local Australian success for SACHS and its parent company ZF was replicated on the global stage, with triumphs in many elite motorsport categories.

In the Formula One World Championship, teams including Ferrari, Lotus Renault, Sauber and Toro Rosso all utilised components from ZF to achieve three race victories, and a total of 24 podium finishes.

The company returned to top-flight World Rally Championship competition with a bang, winning the constructors title with motorsport partner Volkswagen, while Sebastien Ogier wrapped up the driver's crown in his Polo R WRC.

In the World Endurance Championship, ZF dominated the season with technical partners Audi and Toyota, taking the drivers and constructors titles, while also claiming the 24 Hours of Le Mans with Audi.

ZF Race Engineering components are also found in all cars competing in the DTM, Japanese Super GT, the nine different Porsche Carrera Cups run worldwide and the VW Scirocco Cup, with components also supplied to teams racing in the World Touring Car Championship, Formula 3, as well as various other sports car, open wheel and off road categories.

Locally, all SACHS and ZF produced road car components are available through ZF Services Australia.
