Formula Sochi And Formula 1 Have Discussed Russian Grand Prix Logistics In Sochi


As part of the preparation for Formula 1 Russian Grand Prix representatives of FOM Cargo, responsible for the freight logistics, and customs formalities of Formula 1 World Championship have visited Sochi.

During the meeting the team of the Formula 1 Russian Grand Prix Promoter and the experts discussed terms of cargo delivery for Formula 1 teams at F1 Russian round. FOM Cargo representatives visited Sochi International Airport to evaluate its technical capabilities and loading equipment; and held several meetings with logistics companies.

Oleg Zabara, Formula 1 Russian Grand Prix Promoter: “Speed, team play, accuracy and calculation are required not only for Formula 1 teams, but also for specialists who organize the race. As a promoter of Formula 1 Russian Grand Prix, we are responsible for the technical organization for the project. One of the top priorities is to ensure the equipment delivery and to organize effective logistics and operational customs clearance of cargoes. The infrastructure required is an important aspect”.

The Grand Prix active logistical arrangements start 2 months before the Event - many loads arrive at this period, ranging from uniforms, furniture and food, to the special fuel for Formula 1 cars, telecommunications facilities, and temporary structures. Two days before the F1 race weekend the delivery of sports equipment will be organized, safety cars and ambulances, and other vehicles for the Event. All these arrangements are carefully planned by dedicated experts.
