The company is very pleased this year to have assisted Sebastian Vettel and Red Bull in achieving the Formula One Drivers’ and Constructors’ championships for the fourth-straight year. Involved in Formula One since 1975, Brembo has won 19 World Championship Drivers’ and 23 World Championship Constructors’ titles. In addition, Brembo continued for the second-straight year as the exclusive supplier of brake systems for the IndyCar Series with Scott Dixon and Target Ganassi Racing winning a third IndyCar crown.

When one thinks of Brembo, sports car racing immediately comes to mind and rightfully so. In 2013, Brembo won its 13th overall victory in 14 years at the 24 Hours of Le Mans as the Audi R18 driven by Duval, Kristensen & McNish topped the podium. Brembo-equipped teams made a clean sweep of the classic race winning the LMP2, GTE Pro and GTE Am classes.

Dozens of other sports car teams equipped with Brembo Racing high-performance brakes were crowned champions in 2013, including the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) where the LMP1 class was won by the same Audi R18 team (Duval, Kristensen & McNish) that was victorious at Le Mans. The GTE Pro class was won by Gianmaria Bruni in his Ferrari 458 Italia. Former Grand-Am Champion Max Angelelli and Jordan Taylor won the final Grand-Am Rolex Prototype Championship for Wayne Taylor Racing, while Alessandro Balzan was crowned the Rolex GT champion driving his Scuderia Corsa Ferrari 458 Italia. Johnny O’Connell repeated as the Pirelli World Challenge GT champion in his Cadillac Racing CTS-VR.

Brembo continues to shine in off-road as well as B.J. Baldwin was crowned the SCORE Overall Champion in 2013, winning the SCORE Trophy Truck class for a record fourth time, driving his Chevy Silverado to overall victory in the season-ending Baja 1000 where Brembo swept the podium.

Brembo’s dominance in racing in 2013 was not reserved for four-wheel vehicles as Brembo-equipped motorcycles also won virtually every race (59 of 60) in the three top series this season. Honda’s Marc Marquez was crowned MotoGP Champion; Tom Sykes rode his Brembo-equipped Kawasaki to the World Superbike championship; and Josh Herrin of Yamaha was the American Superbike Champion – all for the first time. Brembo’s dominance in Moto includes 23 MotoGP championships in the past 26 years, 21 out of 25 in World Superbike, and 21 straight in American Superbike.

Although founded in 1961, Brembo began racing in 1975 when Enzo Ferrari entrusted the Italian high-performance brake manufacturer with the task of fitting its most prestigious Formula One car. Since then, Brembo has been at the forefront of the motorsports arena, winning over 200 world championships.
