Cape Motorsports drivers have won back-to-back Formula F championships, which amounted to 14 wins, 13 poles and 12 second-place finishes. Jake Eidson claimed the 2013 crown.

Since 2012, Cape Motorsports had served as the exclusive North American and Canadian distributor of the Spectrum racing car chassis, which is built by Borland Racing Development in Australia. Cape Motorsports drivers drove the chassis to victory 14 times in 24 races.

“Unfortunately, there are too many scheduling issues for us to compete in the F1600 Championship,” said team owners Dominic and Nicholas Cape. “We have really enjoyed the past three years working with Mike (Borland) and everyone at Borland Racing Development. The Spectrum chassis is a high-quality car that is fast on the track. In addition to Mike and his team, we would like to thank HDP/Quicksilver Race Engines, Hoosier Tires and the Formula F Series.”

The team previously announced it would join the Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires beginning in 2014. Neil Alberico is confirmed as a driver.

Cape Motorsports will continue to compete in the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda. In addition to back-to-back team championships, Cape Motorsports drivers won the last two championships. Eicson will compete for the championship this season.

The team will next be on track March 29-30 for both the Pro Mazda and USF2000 season openers in St. Petersburg, Fla.
