Roush Fenway Racing Receives Top Honors from MarCom Awards

Roush Fenway Racing (RFR) - NASCAR’s winningest team on the race track - has been recognized for its industry-leading marketing efforts by receiving multiple MarCom awards. The team was awarded the prestigious MarCom Platinum Award for its 2013 “Let Ricky Race” campaign that featured NASCAR Rookie of the Year Ricky Stenhouse Jr., and Best Buy Racing. In addition, the organization won Gold MarCom awards for its “Driven” brand and PR campaigns, and its 2013 Pillow Pets “Introduction to NASCAR” platform.

The acknowledgement marks RFR’s second Platinum award in the last three years and the third consecutive year the organization has been honored by the esteemed awards panel.

“It is quite an honor to have our work recognized by such a respected platform as the MarCom awards,” said RFR president Steve Newmark. “We are especially proud of our increasing ability to provide added marketing services, solutions and visibility to our partners. We know that brands have choices as to where they invest their marketing dollars. With that mindset, we continue to work diligently to increase our service and the returned value to our partners. I think this is indicative of the direction that we are moving as not just a sports team, but also as a marketing organization.”

The MarCom award honors excellence in the communications field and recognizes outstanding creative achievement by marketing and communication professionals, with over 6,500 entries from throughout the United States, Canada and several other countries in the 2013 competition. Winners were selected from over 200 categories in seven forms of media and communication efforts - marketing, publications, marketing/promotion, public service/pro bono, creativity and electronic/interactive. About 19 percent of the entries, including Roush Fenway, brought home Platinum honors.

In 2011 RFR won a Platinum MarCom for its successful RickyVsTrevor program. In addition, the team won a Gold MarCom for its “25 Winning Years” campaign in 2012. The organization was also recognized by PR News with a Social Media Icon award for its groundbreaking efforts on the Google+ platform in 2012.

The competition has grown to one of the largest of its kind, with winners ranging in size from individual communicators to media conglomerates and Fortune 500 companies.
