Dion von Moltke: "In qualifying, we didn’t end up perfectly where we wanted, but we really focused a lot on long distance running. I didn’t even run on new tires before qualifying. We went in, gave it our best shot and learned a lot about the Audi R8 and figured out a lot of things we can do better for qualifying in the future. In night practice we found a really good base set up for our car, which will be good over the long run. All the drivers are happy with it, and that’s the most important part: finding the compromise of set up that’s going to work for the full 24 hours in any condition and that all four drivers are happy with it. We finally achieved that in our Flying Lizards Motorsports Audi R8 LMS. It’s amazingly competitive this year. The top six cars are all within one tenth of a second. It’s a really tight field and seems more competitive than ever. This year is definitely no exception. You’re going to see one of the hardest fought battles over the 24 Hours that we’ve ever seen in all classes. All of the classes are really tight and Daytona is a big one. Everyone wants to win it. Luckily, we’ve got really good team behind us, good strategy, insight and knowledge going into the race. Hopefully as drivers, we can do our job, keep it clean and keep it as close as we can on the lead lap and rely on the strength of our team, be there in the end and hopefully fight for a win."
