Grand Prix Racers, Detroit Tigers, And WXYZ Family Day Bring Smiles, Laughter And Dancing To The Auto Show

The hottest spot in Southeastern Michigan remains Detroit's Cobo Center - home of the 2014 North American International Auto Show. Yesterday the mood was even more festive as 76,505 adults and kids of all ages escaped frigid outdoor temperatures to participate in a number of activities inside Cobo Center's perfect 73 degrees. (Friday of last year, the show drew 78,516.)

WXYZ Channel 7 Family Day
The annual event featured Sesame Street Live characters, Radio Disney, face painting, dance lessons, and bands on stage in the new Cobo Atrium, which was packed with energy and kids.

Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix
Several of the world's top race car drivers from the Indy Car Series and Pirelli World Challenge, including Chevrolet Indy Car Driver Juan Pablo Montoya from Team Penske and Charlie Kimball from Chip Ganassi Racing, appeared at NAIAS to greet fans and sign autographs. Cadillac Racing World Challenge Series drivers Johnny O'Connell and Andy Pilgrim, and Michigan driver Todd Napieralski, a World Challenge Series competitor, also participated.

Detroit Tigers Winter Caravan
The Detroit Tigers Winter Caravan made its annual auto show stop, where players participated in Auto Show in Motion, the NAIAS indoor parade of exotic and luxury cars. Later, players were introduced and took questions from fans at the Chevrolet display. Participating Tigers included Austin Jackson, Alex Avila, Rajai Davis, Ian Krol, Daniel Fields, Kyle Lobstein, Joe Nathan, Evan Reed, and Anibal Sanchez.
