Progress Being Made For GEICO Honda Supercross Stars Hahn, Osborne

Wil Hahn knew the first season aboard his 450cc GEICO Honda would be a work in progress, and now, after a season-best finish in Oakland, the reigning 250SX East champion rider carries a growing amount of confidence and momentum into Saturday's race at Angel Stadium of Anaheim.

Hahn scored the best finish of his 450 career at Oakland last weekend, coming home eighth overall. Combined with his solid performances in practice and a stellar Heat race, Hahn says his self-assurance is on the rise.

"It's getting higher and higher, without a doubt," Hahn said. "I'm happy with the way everything's building and what we're doing here as a team. Still, I've got to keep getting better and better."

Hahn finished 11th in both previous Anaheim races this season, and he's hoping his recent uptick in performance translates into a better result for the third and final trip to Angel Stadium.

It won't be easy as he and the other Supercross riders will have to tackle a track surface that may have deteriorated since the start of the year.

"It definitely gets harder every time we get back there," Hahn said. "It gets a little slick. Everything from the Monster Trucks being there to all the dirt being moved around from all the different layouts affects the traction.

"More than anything, though, it's just a matter of relaxing. We're going there for the third time, so it's a little bit of a routine now, no matter what the track looks like."

Teammate Zach Osborne is ready for the same challenge, though on his 250 bike. Osborne is coming off a fifth-place finish in Oakland that has him solidly in the top five in the 250SX West standings.

"I'm looking for more success this weekend at A3," Osborne said. "I hope to keep moving up so I need to keep plugging away. I have a good program. The team's behind me, and we're working hard to get some wins. That's what it's all about right now. I feel like I'm taking big steps every weekend, and we'll be there soon enough."

Osborne scored a podium finish at the first Anaheim race and would love to get back there this weekend, though he too expects a different race track.

"The main reason it's different for the motorcycles is they have those big trucks in there between each Supercross race," Osborne said. "That makes the dirt really hard-packed so it gets slick. It's gets worse and worse, it seems like, all three weeks. That makes it challenging.

"But I'm looking forward to it. I like the buzz and the electricity in Anaheim, and I'm excited about it."
