2014 NHRA: Namm Show Caps Busy Weekend For JFR

The drivers of John Force Racing travel thousands of miles every season as part of the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series. While the start of the 2014 season is still ten days away the drivers got a jump start on travelling and spending time with their sponsors and fans this past weekend.

A Sunday night appearance at the NAMM Show, (North America Music Merchants) capped a long two days for Funny Car drivers John Force and Robert Hight. Force and Hight were back in Southern California to promote Creative Defense Music along with JFR CEO Adria Hight. The Elvis Funny Car was on display in the Creative Defense Music and Rock-n-Roll Industries Magazine booth for the run of the show.

“Adria runs our business but she loves music. She has been in a band for many years and a few years ago she joined some people and started her own record label to promote artists that might get overlooked. I am a long-time Elvis fan and we brought one of the Elvis Funny Cars to the show to draw some attention. The other Elvis Funny Car is in Graceland,” said John Force.

“We were promoting the NHRA Winternationals and just helping grow the sport. I was in New Orleans on Saturday for Goodyear and Robert was in St. Louis at the Auto Show promoting Auto Club. We have been all over preaching the gospel. We are ready to go racing though,” added Force.

NAMM, the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM), commonly called NAMM in reference to the organization's popular NAMM trade shows, is the not-for-profit association that promotes the pleasures and benefits of making music and strengthens the $17 billion global music products industry. Our association—and our trade shows—serve as a hub for people wanting to seek out the newest innovations in musical products, recording technology, sound and lighting. NAMM's activities and programs are designed to promote music making to people of all ages.

On Friday night the newest John Force Racing driver, Brittany Force, was dropping the puck at the Ontario Reign hockey game. In addition to her on ice duties Force spent some time signing autographs for the fans and talking up the Circle K Winternationals. The last time Force raced at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona her Castrol EDGE Top Fuel Dragster reached the semi-finals at the Auto Club Finals in November.

“It was a really great experience to drop the puck at the Ontario Reign hockey game on Friday. There were quite a few NHRA fans there and I think we made some new fans too. Dropping the puck was a great way to promote the upcoming Winternationals and hopefully get people excited about the start of the NHRA season. I can’t wait to get back to Auto Club Raceway,” said Brittany Force.

The lone driver to take in some racing action this weekend was Courtney Force, driver of the Traxxas Ford Mustang, who spent the weekend at the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona supporting Graham Rahal as well as welcoming Ford Racing’s new EcoBoost engine to the competition.
