The five day course, which took place from 26-30 January 2014, was delivered by the Automobile and Touring Club of the UAE (ATCUAE) in cooperation with the International Road Transport Union (IRU) Academy, and qualifies attendees to deliver CPC Manager Middle East courses for transport operators in the Emirates through the ATCUAE-IRU Academy.

Delivered at the ATCUAE’s Technical Centre, the intensive course was attended by officials from the National Transport Authority (NTA), the Emirates Authority for Standardization & Metrology (ESMA) and other officials and instructors from the Transport Industry in the UAE, who will all join the highly qualified pool of ATCUAE-IRU Academy instructors.

The programme ensures that the instructors are well equipped with up to date information, knowledge, methods and tools to establish and deliver high quality CPC Manager Trainings in the UAE.

In accordance with Federal Law No. 9 passed in 2011, the contents of the CPC Manager Middle East serves the legal and technical requirement for all transport managers in the UAE, and is in place to ensure those in charge of operations are trained to a professional and competent level.

Dr. Mohammed Ben Sulayem, ATCUAE President, said that the training course ensures that the current capacities and competence of transport operators and transport managers in the UAE is paralleled to international standards.

“Only through professional training can the road UAE transport sector continue to adapt and evolve,” said Ben Sulayem.

“It is important that transport managers are fully qualified in national transport for road haulage on the basis of international legal instruments and best practice. This course equips instructors with the background information, knowledge, methods, and tools to establish and deliver high quality CPC Manager Middle East trainings.”

Official Instructors’ accreditation and certificates will be provided jointly by The IRU Academy and the ATCUAE.

The IRU Academy is a professional road transport training organisation with a global reach, creating a framework for capacity-building to enhance the efficiency, professionalism, effectiveness and accountability of the road transport training industry.
