Antonelli Wraps Up Almeria Test In Good Form. Bastianini Works On His Riding Style

The Junior Team GO&FUN Moto3 riders completed today a productive three day of testing at the Spanish circuit of Almeria. After focusing yesterday on the front end of his KTM, Niccolò Antonelli continued today to refine the chassis set-up testing a new rear shock; the youngster from Cattolica late in the day improved slightly his yesterday’s best time, setting a 1’39”5 and confirming again himself among the fastest riders on track.

His teammate, rookie Enea Bastianini, continued his apprenticeship in Moto3 focusing on riding style and on the lines, posting a best time of 1’41”0.

The Junior Team GO&FUN Moto3 will return to action next week, for the test scheduled at the Valencia circuit from 11th to 13th of February.

“We closed this first test of the year with another very productive day, even though an offtrack excursion slowed down a bit our program. Unfortunately I made that excursion off the track in one point where there is a very little run-off area, so I ended up on the barriers. Fortunately I was unhurt, but we lost a bit of time. In the end I also tried a new rear shock that has further improved my feeling on the bike and I even slightly improved my best time from yesterday, so I'm happy and very confident ahead of the next test in Valencia”.

"These three days of testing have been very useful: I learned many things, both from the point of view of the riding style and from the bike set-up. Today, in particular, I tried to better understand the best lines on track, following other riders. Unfortunately, today the strong wind gave me again some trouble, but in general I am very satisfied of these tests outcome: I will arrive in Valencia with a little more experience on my shoulders”.

"We certainly started 2014 with the right mood: Niccolò was among the fastest riders in all three days of testing, confirming that he has everything to be a protagonist. He worked methodically, lowering costantly his lap times and for this reason we are really confident ahead of the test which will take place in Valencia next week. I'm also happy with how Enea began his adventure: he showed talent and determination, so I'm convinced that he will learn quickly, giving us early satisfactions”.
