An Early Goodbye To Mount Panorama For Flash And Friends!

The Compareinsurance.com.au Motionsport team members gave their best at the Bathurst 12 hour endurance race on Sunday but to no avail.

After a series of mechanical failures the team had to pull out of the race after 7 hours with the crew of mechanics working tirelessly fighting a losing battle.

A host of small issues caused too much time in the pits to try and rectify, and when they discovered a misfire on the engine, it was time to retire the locally owned and prepared car.

The problems started with an early brake issue which saw Pete Storey go off at the Chase when he was unable to slow the car down sending him deep into the gravel. This later transpired to have damaged the rear dampers which caused another off.

"Endurance racing is always tough, and endurance racing at Bathurst is probably the toughest. Everything has to be 100% and this time a few things let us down." Ben Gower

"What an awesome experience to race at the Mount Panorama. I can't wait to return again next year with more success!" 2012 British Touring Car Champion Gordon Shedden (Flash)

"We'll be back next year and we'll bring our own car." Pete Storey

"A massive thank you to the boys and girls on the team. You worked so hard all weekend fighting a losing a battle but kept going and going. Great job by the drivers in some really tough conditions too. Some superb laps from Flash. We can only imagine what he could have done with the right car under him! Thanks to compareinsurance.com.au for all of their support!" Motionsport Team Principal, Simon Phillips.

The Motionsport team are looking to the future and getting the new race season underway.
