Enfinger Claims Win at Lucas Oil 200 in Daytona

Grant Enfinger claimed the win Saturday in the Lucas Oil 200 at Daytona International Speedway presented by MAVTC American Real. This was Enfinger and Team BCR’s first win at Daytona in their Motor Honey-Casite-Advanced Auto Parts Ford. The 29 year old started in the second position to Dylan Kwasniewski and battled back and forth for several laps before taking the lead on lap 52. Enfinger chose the inside position after a caution using ARCA’s newly instituted rule of double file restarts with 14 to go. With excellent track position and a Roush Yates power plant under the hood, the number 90 was able to have the edge over the notable competition to pick-up the victory.

Enfinger created quite a splash by putting Ford back into victory lane at Daytona for the first time since Ryan Newman in 2001. The talented driver also became the 37th different winner in 51 season-opening ARCA races at the legendary Daytona International Speedway. The Fairhope, Alabama native added this third victory out of the last 21 ARCA races and plans to continue his success by running the full ARCA Racing Series schedule in 2014.

Enfinger stated, “It doesn’t get much better than this! I think we’re going to be running for this thing (ARCA championship). I feel really strong about this team. We’re like the little engine that could, we have a lot of heart.”

In the 2013 season, Enfinger competed part-time starting only eight of the season’s 21 races. Out of the eight starts, the up and coming driver won two races (Iowa and Mobile) and was able to rack-up several top-5 and top-10 finishes to add to his career.

The next ARCA Series event will take place on March 22nd at Mobile International Speedway in Mobile, Alabama.
