2014 Bahrain: Formula One F1 Saturday Test Results - Rosberg, Mercedes Fastest!

By Mike Sulka

The Formula One F1 series has completed their first four day test at the Bahrain International Circuit in Bahrain with Nico Rosberg setting the top time in his Mercedes with a best lap of 1:33.283 out of 89 total. To help alleviate concerns over a slower formula for this season, Rosberg also took Pole last season at Bahrain with a lap of 1:32.330. The record at the track was 1:31.447 set by Pedro de la Rosa in 2005.

Hinting at a McLaren revival for the second straight test, Jenson Button and McLaren turned a strong 1:34.957 - 66 total - laps.

Kimi Raikkonen will be battling for supremacy at Ferrari this season with Fernando Alonso, Raikkonen turned a lap of 1:36.718 - 82 total - but was behind Alonso's best time set on Thursday of 1:36.516.

Felipe Nasr (Williams) were fourth quick followed by Pastor Maldonado (Lotus) who were fifth on the charts.

Red Bull continues to struggle with technical problems, today it was a software glich that kept the team to just 15 laps with Daniel Ricciardo at the wheel.

Testing continues at Bahrain after a one week break in the action. The 2014 Australian Grand Prix is just 19 days away.
