Dual Touring Car Masters champion John Bowe has given his famous “Mustang Sally” a makeover in preparation for the 2014 title.

With ongoing support from Coates Hire, Dunlop Super Dealers and Wilson Security for the season, Bowe has made some subtle changes to “Sally” giving her a fresh new look for 2014.

Bowe is the most successful driver in the ‘Masters’ with over 50 race wins and after finishing a close second in the title last year, will line up for his seventh season in the ultra popular championship.

When the Touring Car Masters last raced at the Clipsal 500 in 2012, Bowe won the round in a dominant fashion.

He topped the timesheets in both practice sessions, qualified on pole position and went on to win two of the three races, finishing second in the other.

After completing a test day at Winton recently, Bowe declared himself and “Sally” ready to go.

“I am really looking forward to racing on the Adelaide street track, it’s a great place to kick off the championship and I can’t wait to get out there.

“We haven’t raced there for a couple of years and the cars have progressed so much since then so it’s going to be very exciting”.

On competing in the Touring Car Masters, Bowe said, “I really love racing the Trans Am Mustang.

“There’s no aero, no data to work off, the cars are raw, powerful and difficult just like the old days. It’s a total contrast to the GT cars I also race”.

When asked about title rivals this year Bowe declared, “Jim Richards and Andrew Miedecke are always up there and with some new cars and skilled newcomers in the series, I never presume anything.

“I’m looking forward to having fun racing this year and working with my loyal sponsors. Racing is my life” he added.

The Touring Car Masters cars will be on track at the Clipsal 500 Adelaide Parklands circuit, Thursday February 27th.
