Thompson won in Super Comp in his first-ever national event final round appearance. DeJoria, who had wins in Top Alcohol Funny Car earlier in her career, had one previous professional final round chance.

Goodyear’s other winners were Antron Brown in Top Fuel and Allen Johnson in Pro Stock.

Thompson’s win came after he posted a near-perfect reaction time, .001 of a second.

DeJoria beat Robert Hight in the Funny Car finals. She completed the 1,000-foot distance in 4.043 seconds and was clocked at 309.43 mph.

John Force finished the weekend with the lead in the championship standings. Force has 225 points, the most of any NHRA professional at this point in the season. Robert Hight is second in Funny Car with 159 and DeJoria is third with 156.

Brown defeated Brittany Force in the Top Fuel final and collected his 26th victory in the category.

Doug Kalitta leads Top Fuel drivers with 191 points. Khalid alBalooshi is next with 165.

Johnson beat V. Gaines in Pro Stock. Gaines has advanced to the finals in each of the first two events this season. Johnson’s victory is his 21st career win. Gaines leads the Pro Stock standings with 191 points. Jason Line has 180 in second place.

Goodyear employs about 69,000 people at manufacturing plants and facilities in 22 nations. Based in Akron, Ohio, Goodyear is among the largest tiremakers in the world and is the worldwide leader in race tire innovation.
