GEICO Honda 250SX East Riders Set Goals High For Indianapolis

After solid performances in their last race, GEICO Honda 250SX East riders Justin Bogle, Blake Wharton, and Matt Bisceglia have high expectations for this Saturday's Supercross event in Indiana.

Bogle led the team's efforts in Atlanta, climbing the podium after a third-place finish, with Wharton following closely behind with a solid fourth-place result. Bisceglia showed a lot of promise by claiming second in his heat race, but his main event proved troublesome and was unable to finish.

The ride to his first podium of the season wasn't necessarily an easy one for Bogle, and the determination he needed to fight his way into the top three is what has him excited about the next race.

"My first podium of the season was such a great moment for me," Bogle said. "I can definitely say that I'm happy with that result although I'm certainly not satisfied. I am hungry for more and ready to move closer to the middle of the podium (where the winner stands).

"There was a point in the off-season right after I got injured when it looked like I wouldn't be able to ride Supercross at all this year, but my recovery went really well and now two races in I already have a podium. I can't tell you how great it is to have a team like GEICO Honda to stand behind me and support me in getting to this point. All I want to do now is reward them with more and more top finishes."

Wharton was in Bogle's shadow throughout the race. Like his teammate, Wharton maintained a fast pace for the majority of the main and was able to maintain position as the laps ticked off and others took their shots at the front.

"Atlanta was a big step in the right direction," Wharton said. "We will be tweaking a few things with the bike and getting some good practice in this week. I want to be 100 percent ready for this weekend.

"I'm impressed with the talent in the East this year. It's always tough and this season is no exception. Last year was a real breakthrough season for me. We got a win and ended up third in the final standings, so I have the confidence it takes to ride up front. It's all about execution now."

Bisceglia admitted he was disappointed in his Atlanta finish, mitigated by a pair of rough get-offs, but knows he is making progress toward his end goal.

"I am focusing on a good week of practice and training," Bisceglia said. "I made a lot of little mistakes this past weekend, so I'm going to work on minimizing those. I know that my time is coming to be at the front competing for a top finish."

Live coverage of this race begins at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, on Fox Sports 1.
