Daytona Launches Fancam of 2014 DAYTONA 500

Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s second career victory in the DAYTONA 500 this past Sunday is the talk of the sporting world. Starting today, the tens of thousands of fans who were at Daytona International Speedway to witness this epic race can go online to http://www.daytonainternationalspeedway.com/fancam and tag their image in the Fancam photo.

“The 56th annual DAYTONA 500 produced another storied chapter in the history of ‘The Great American Race’ with Dale Earnhardt Jr’s second career win,” Daytona International Speedway President Joie Chitwood III said. “The Fancam is a great way for guests to share with their friends and family where they were when they witnessed the incredible finish.”

The DAYTONA 500 Fancam is a photo technology that transforms a high-definition, 360 degree crowd image of Daytona International Speedway, the largest image ever take at a live sporting event, into a social media fan engagement experience.

During last Sunday’s 56th annual DAYTONA 500, the Fancam captured high-definition images of the crowd all the way down to the seat level. The images were then ‘stitched’ together and uploaded to a custom landing page where fans can tag themselves and share on Facebook, Twitter and e-mail.

Fans can follow NASCAR on Twitter (@NASCAR) and stay up to speed on the latest news by using hashtags #NASCAR. Stay connected with Daytona International Speedway on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest for the latest news all season long.
