Rashid Al Dhaheri Finishes Second In His Debut At Yas Marina Circuit

In 2011, at the age of three, Rashid Al Dhaheri made his first visit to the Ferrari pit box during the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Grand Prix and now a just over two years later, this past weekend, he made his debut at Yas Marina Circuit, which hosted a round of the UAE Rotax Max Challenge.

The five year old prodigy from Abu Dhabi, again showed his talent as he survived several early incidents which caused damage to his kart. But once again 'Little Alonso' showed his tenacity and spirit by recovering, putting his head down and proceeded to drive a storming race to finish second on a race track he had never driven on before.

His father Ali Al Dhaheri said, "Racing at the Yas Marina Circuit, venue of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, was dream come true for Rashid and he couldn't hide his happiness to be racing in one of the most beautiful Formula 1 tracks in the world."

Rashid will return to Dubai Kartdrome, where he enjoyed a strong performance and win earlier this year, for the O-Plate Race Weekend on 14 March.
