Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates Adds Second Prototype for 12 Hours of Sebring

Seven-time GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series Champions (2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013) and five-time Rolex 24 At Daytona Winners (2006, 2007, 2008, 2011, 2013) Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates (CGRFS) announced today that it will field a second Prototype in the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship’s (USCC) 12 Hours of Sebring with drivers Scott Dixon, Tony Kanaan and Sage Karam in the No. 02 Comfort Revolution/Big Machine Records Ford EcoBoost Riley, while sports car star Marino Franchitti joins Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas in the No. 01 Telcel Ford EcoBoost Riley.

Comfort Revolution and Big Machine Records will again join the team’s partnership lineup after backing CGRFS’ two-car effort at Daytona International Speedway in the season-opening Rolex 24 At Daytona.


· Students at Sebring: 2014 will mark the first time in the 25-year history of Chip Ganassi Racing Teams that the team will enter the 12 Hours of Sebring.

· About Sage Karam: The reigning Indy Lights Champion, 2011 Star Mazda Rookie of the Year and 2010 USF2000 Champion returns to CGRFS after making his debut with the team in Round 1 of the USCC in his first start in a sports car of any kind at the Rolex 24 At Daytona. He will drive alongside Scott Dixon and Tony Kanaan for the first time after partnering with Scott Pruett, Memo Rojas and Jamie McMurray in Daytona.

· About Marino Franchitti: The 2013 and 2010 LMP2 American LeMans Series Champion, 2001 British GTO Champion and 1993 Scottish Pro-Kart Champion returns to CGRFS and will co-pilot the No. 01 car after contesting the Rolex 24 At Daytona in January. Franchitti will be paired together with Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas for the first time in Sebring after driving with Scott Dixon, Kyle Larson and Tony Kanaan in Round 1 at Daytona.

· About Scott Dixon: The three-time and reigning IndyCar Series Champion will make his second-consecutive start of the USCC season, again alongside Target IndyCar Series teammate Tony Kanaan in 2014. In Dixon’s only other appearance at the 12 Hours of Sebring, he won the overall pole in the LMP1 class in 2009.

· About Tony Kanaan: The reigning Indianapolis 500 Winner made his CGRFS debut last season in the Brickyard Grand Prix at Indianapolis Motor Speedway before signing to drive the No. 10 Target Chevrolet in the IndyCar Series. Kanaan previously won the LMP2 class at the 12 Hours of Sebring in 2007 after finishing second overall.
