The ARCA-Mobile 200 at Mobile Int'l Speedway is still a couple weeks away but the pre-game show is already ratcheting up.

The list of testers already includes this year's Daytona ARCA 200 race champion and Fairhope, Alabama driver Grant Enfinger, scheduled to test on March 15. Enfinger is also the defending ARCA-Mobile 200 race winner.

Joining Enfinger on March 15 to test is 10-time ARCA national champion Frank Kimmel. Kimmel finished second to Enfinger at Daytona.

Venturini Motorsports is scheduled to test four drivers, including 2013 Daytona winner John Wes Townley. Townley already announced he'd be racing the complete ARCA schedule in 2014 in addition to selected races in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

Justin Boston, the 2013 SCOTT Rookie of the Year, is also scheduled to test for Venturini Motorsports, as is Birmingham, Alabama native Michael Self and Joe Gibbs Racing development driver Cody Coughlin. Coughlin just yesterday announced a 12-race ARCA race schedule in 2014. Venturini Motorsports was scheduled to test Thursday, March 6; however, because of inclement weather, the team currently plans to test Monday, March 10, according to Team Manager Billy Venturini.

Cunningham Motorsports is also coming fully loaded, testing four drivers.

Cunningham's line-up of testers at Mobile includes ARCA veteran Tom Hessert, who most recently finished fourth at Daytona, and SCOTT Rookie of the Year contender Austin Wayne Self. Self earned five top-10 finishes in 2013 in just six starts with a career-best second at Winchester Speedway. The Austin, Texas driver has already announced that he too will be running for the 2014 ARCA championship.

Suwanee, Georgia's Anderson Bowen, who debuted on the ARCA tour at Mobile in 2013 with a third place finish, will also be testing with Cunningham, as will newcomer Shannon McIntosh, who first tested with Cunningham at Daytona in late December, 2013.

Others scheduled to test include Kimmel Racing's Michael Lira (Port Orange, Fla.) and W. Des Moines, Iowa's Mason Mitchell.

ARCA-Mobile 200 race event gets bigger every year

While it's obvious several teams are serious about their ARCA-Mobile 200 race endeavors, the event itself continues to grow with extracurricular activity, now encompassing three weekends.

"We want teams to come on down to the Gulf Coast," said ARCA-Mobile 200 promoter Tommy Praytor.

The track is hosting its own open test for ARCA teams Saturday, March 15.

"March is a great time to be in Mobile. Practice with us then stay for awhile enjoying some of our great southern hospitality, tourist attractions, and bring your golf clubs. Hotels and attractions along the Gulf Coast will be offering specials just for our ARCA teams that stay the week. Of course the grandstands will be opened at no charge for fans to take in the testing."

Menards Pole Award Qualifying presented by Ansell is Friday night, March 21. Mobile's local division will be joining Friday evening's festivities.
