2014 Las Vegas: Mike Bliss NASCAR Nationwide Race Recap

In his ninth Nationwide Series start at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Mike Bliss and the No.19 TriStar Motorsports Camry were looking for their first top-10 finish of the 2014 season. During both practice sessions on Friday, the No.19 TriStar Motorsports crew was able to make the adjustments needed to get Bliss's car ready for qualifying on Saturday morning.

Qualifying began at 12:40PM ET and Bliss finished the first segment within the top-24, which meant that the No. 19 TriStar Motorsports Camry would advance to the second segment. After the second segment, Bliss qualified 20th for the race and was ready for the green flag to drop.

Once the green flag dropped Bliss moved his way up through the field. On the first green flag pit stop, Bliss took four tires, fuel and the No.19 crew made a slight air pressure adjustment. At the halfway point, Bliss was running in the 15th position but came to pit road during a caution for tires, fuel and another air pressure adjustment.

With 28 laps to go, Mike Bliss and the No. 19 Toyota Camry were 14th and that is where they would finish. After the checkered flag was shown, Bliss finished the Boyd Gaming 300 in 14th. Bliss sits ninth in the driver's points standings after today's race.

Next weekend, the TriStar Motorsports team is heading to Bristol Motor Speedway for the Drive To Stop Diabetes 300 presented by Lilly Diabetes.
