Second Place Finish in Feature, Standings for Peyton Saxton at Lucas Oil I-10

The talented racer/mechanic once again rolled "off the trailer" fast at Lucas Oil I-10 Speedway and chased winner Darren Amidon all the way to the finish line, taking home second place honors in a hard-fought 35-lap feature race.

The difference between Peyton winning and finishing second in this race may have simply come down to race officials inverting the starting lineup.

"There's probably some truth to that," Peyton nodded after the race was over. "I was fastest in all the practices and qualified fastest with a 15.54 second lap. That was over a tenth faster than everyone else.I got to second by lap four.

I wanted to be patient behind Darren and not make my move too soon.I went for it with two laps left and got into the corner just a little too hot and clipped the car in front of me.I got loose and saved it but lost too much ground to make up in such a short time. If I'd started up front I believe we definitely had the car to win the race, but just being so competitive for wins in the Pro division so early in the year is pretty awesome because it's a huge step up from Young Lions."

Peyton also finished second in the series point standings as a result of his strong run on Saturday. He'll be back on track at the "Bullring" at Las Vegas Motor Speedway this coming weekend.

Fans can follow Peyton on Facebook by searching Peyton Saxton Racing and on Twitter at SaxtonPeyton10.
