GEICO Honda 250 Team Hopes To Keep Momentum Rolling In Motor City

The surging GEICO Honda 250SX East Series team heads to Ford Field this weekend with visions of podium finishes at the Monster Energy Supercross event.

Justin Bogle has two podium finishes in four East races this season, and Blake Wharton has a pair of fourth-place finishes, including last weekend at Daytona. Rookie Matt Bisceglia has improved each weekend, with top-seven finishes at his last two events.

"I feel like we can get the ball rolling again and get on the podium," Wharton said. "Momentum is everything. Once you get it started, it's hard to stop. It's like a snowball, so it's always awesome if you get some momentum going. I'm confident. I know what I can do; I've done it before. It's just about getting out there and doing it and making sure you bring your A-game.

"Our momentum is great. I think the team definitely wants to keep it going. The season is not over yet, and we're definitely looking to getting some podiums here."

Wharton has moved to sixth in the East Series points standings, two spots behind Bogle.

Bogle has finished in the top five in all four races in 2014, but the young rider expects more out of himself after coming back from injuries suffered in the off-season.

"I wasn't happy with Daytona at all," Bogle said. "I didn't do myself any favors with the championship. I didn't go through what I had to go through in the off-season, work so hard, and come back from that to go out and get fifth.

"I'm going to come back this weekend and get back up front."

Bogle said his starts will be key to his return to the podium.

"I've got to get myself a better start," Bogle said.

Bisceglia, GEICO Honda's teenage rookie, struggled in his first two races in the 250SX class, but he has been solid at his last two events, a fourth at Indy and a seventh at Daytona.

"I know what I need to work on and what my downs are, so I'm going to go back and work as hard as I can this week and come back strong this weekend," Bisceglia said. "It'll be good. The track's probably not going to be quite as gnarly, and it's not going to be quite as long. I'm excited and looking forward to it."

FOX Sports 1 will broadcast the action at 11:30 p.m. ET, Saturday.
