Performance Tech Opens the Season with Two Podium Finishes at Sebring

Team Principal Brent O'Neill has his sights on a podium of Performance Tech drivers for Round Two on Friday, March 14.

"I think we did great today," O'Neill said. "We had a Masters guy (Craig Duerson) finish P2 against a guy who has been in the series for three years trying to win a championship. Hayden (Duerson) should have had third there, but we had a little slip-up and bobbled him on fuel so he lost some thunder on his last lap. Robert Alon finished in the top 10. Brownson landed on the Masters podium, Janco did really well out there until his incident. Unfortunately for Matt (McMurry) we had a mechanical but I think if it weren't for those things we could have had all of our cars up there on podium. We'll get it all back together, and we look to have a good race tomorrow. We'll try to put more pressure on Mikhail (Goikhberg)."

Qualified: 4th Finished: 2nd - "It was my first race in the IMSA Lites series," Duerson said. "Great car and great program I'm happy with finishing second. Hats off to the pace that the winner ran, it's his third season in the car so I was really pleased with my pace in the car."

Qualified: 7th Finished: 4th - "In my personal opinion I over-drove the car," Duerson said. "Performance Tech gave me a great car. We were one of the fastest cars on track for the first half of the race. I caught some lap traffic, and I just didn't get through it very well. Going into Turn 3 he (Dalton Sargeant) just caught me. Tomorrow we'll be set, we'll be good. We've got a fast car so we'll see."

Qualified: 11th Finished: 7th - "The traffic doesn't really play a huge factor at this track," Alon said. "There were a lot of cars running really close times. If one car has an incident it affects everyone else and can makes things pretty crazy out there. This is a great track for the first round of the series. It has a lot of nuances, so I think if you can figure the car out here it will make things easier at other tracks. I look forward to Race Two, my big thing will be to stay more consistent."

Qualified: 12th Finished: 8th (Masters: 2nd) - " It was another exciting day at Sebring," Brownson said. "We had a really good fast clean start. There was a lot of action in Turn 1 which of course always carries into Turn 3 here. Managed to make up a few places there and I kept plugging away. It's a thrill to be here with Performance Tech and we had a great race."

Qualified: 10th Finished: 15th (Masters: 9th) - "It's always fun to go out there and battle it out with the other drivers," Janco said. "I wasn't happy with where I finished but I try to remember that it is just the first race of the season. We'll try to get better and we'll start doing that in Race Two tomorrow."

Qualified: 6th Finished: 23rd - "These cars are fast and light and just really fun to drive," McMurry said. "I really enjoy driving them so I had hoped to do a little better in qualifying. I was shooting for the top four and landed in sixth so I was happy with that. I had a mechanical but for tomorrow I'll be watching my footage from early in the race to see what I can work harder on doing."

The Performance Tech Motorsports Prototype Lites drivers will next perform at 11:15 a.m. (ET) Friday, March 14 for the final race of their week at Sebring.
