SCOTT DIXON: “It was kind of a weird session, just with everybody trying to find their space. Then on our first rolling lap I went into (turn) 5, and it seems like someone dropped oil, because I was right in that turn and just went straight ahead and clipped the firewall. Then the next lap, there was more cars and more cars falling off at 5. We changed a few things. It seemed like we were bottoming quite a bit, so it was very hard to get a consistent lap. After the checkered flag we were probably up sixth or seventh-tenths, which might have got us to third or fourth. Kind of not what we were expecting. We were expecting to do a little better than that, but it is what it is. It’s a long race and we’ve been very strong in traffic, in race conditions, so I think we’ve got a good shot.”

SCOTT PRUETT: “We were just trying to balance our race set-up with our qualifying set up. It’s been real tough to get a few laps out here and we’ve been trying to get a few things nailed down. We were hoping for more, actually, so I was a little surprised we ended up where we did, but I think the car’s been good. It’s been consistent. We’ve made a lot of progress since Daytona and we’re proud of the team. It’s a long race – we’ve got a long time to go.”

FORD RACING

JAMIE ALLISON, Director: “The quality of the track; the quality of the field will be far different than just 12 cars during a qualifying session. We are prepared for the 12 Hours of Sebring vs. the 15-minutes of qualifying at Sebring.”
