Spencer Gallagher, No. 23 Allegiant Travel Chevrolet Mobile International Speedway Pre-Race Report

SWEET HOME ALABAMA: Spencer Gallagher returns to Mobile (Ala.) International Speedway for the third consecutive year in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards. In last year’s ARCA Mobile 200, Gallagher started from the 10th position and ran in the top-five before an accident on lap 52 cut the 24-year-old’s day short.

TRAVEL IS OUR DEAL: Allegiant Travel will adorn the sides of Spencer Gallagher’s No. 23 Chevrolet Impala for the entire 2014 ARCA Racing Series season. Based in Las Vegas, Nevada, Allegiant makes leisure travel affordable and convenient. With low-low fares, nonstop, all-jet service and premier travel partners, Allegiant provides a complete travel experience with great value and without all the hassle.

CHASSIS INFORMATION: GMS Racing will bring Chassis No. 307 to Mobile International Speedway. This is the same chassis Gallagher utilized at the Alabama short track one year ago. Gallagher also raced this Chevrolet Impala at Toledo (Ohio) Speedway and Iowa Speedway in 2013.

DAYTONA RECAP: One month ago during the ARCA Racing Series season opener at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway, Gallagher started the Lucas Oil 200 from the 27th position. On lap 13, a multi-car accident forced Gallagher into the infield grass, causing minor damage to the front end of the Allegiant Travel Chevrolet. A short 10 laps later, another competitor spun directly in front of Gallagher, forcing the team to make repairs on pit road. Gallagher went on to finish in 20th-place.

MEET SPENCER: Gallagher will join fellow ARCA Racing Series drivers to sign autographs on Thursday, March 20th from 5-6 P.M. CT. The Mobile Fan Fest will take place at the USS Alabama Aircraft Pavilion and is open to the general public.

Spencer Gallagher on racing at Mobile International Speedway:

"Mobile always provides good short track racing. The track has multiple grooves, which allows you to move around to make the pass. What makes Mobile unique is the fact that the track has no backstretch wall - the banking, a lip, and then a little flat surface at the top. It’s only for the brave but you can use that to your advantage at times by dipping your right rear on the lip, which will turn the car enough to shoot back down the track."
