Daniel Elena Races In 5th Monte-Carlo 'Zero Emission, No Noise' Rally At The Wheel Of A CITROËN C-Zero

Daniel Elena, the Monegasque co-driver having won nine World Rally Champion titles alongside Sébastien Loeb, is taking to the wheel of a CITROËN C-ZERO to compete in this year’s Monte-Carlo “Zero Emission, No Noise” Rally. The event may be CO2 and noise free but delivers a full dose of excitement! Held from mountain top to sea shore, the rally consists of regularity and manoeuvrability contests.

After nine World Rally Championship titles alongside Sébastien Loeb, including seven Rallye Monte-Carlo wins, Daniel Elena has taken to the wheel! Last year he raced in the 14th Monte-Carlo New Energies Rally in a CITROËN DS5 Hybrid4. This year he is competing in the 5th Monte-Carlo “Zero Emission, No Noise” Rally (or ZENN Rally, for short) in a CITROËN C-ZERO.

The ZENN Rally, reserved exclusively for electric vehicles, consist of several regularity contests. The first, La Turbie-Peille (11.06 km), will be held tomorrow on the winding roads of the Peillon Forest. Events on 22 March include the Peille-Sainte Agnès (8.01 km), Roquebrune Cap Martin-Gorbio (7.35 km) and Sainte Agnès-La Turbie (15.95 km) legs, concluding with a manoeuvrability test in the port of Monaco.

With zero fuel consumption, zero CO2 emissions and zero noise, the CITROËN C-ZERO was designed to make urban mobility easier. The car features compact dimensions, rapid charging and generous range – sufficient for all daily car journeys – together with entirely silent operation that makes drivers forget about the cacophony of the city. The CITROËN C-ZERO is a concentrate of technology and creativity that addresses tomorrow’s issues today!
