Nick Lascoula Teams With 15-40 ConnectionTo Raise Awareness About Early Cancer Detection

Beginning immediately, Nick and his race team have joined forces with the national 15-40 Connection, an organization that is growing in stature and focuses on raising awareness about the importance of early cancer detection and testing.

"When I found out about the 15-40 Connection I knew I wanted to get involved and promote what they're doing," Nick said. "The 15-40 part refers to age. Most people don't realize that people between the ages of 15 and 40 are diagnosed with cancer five times more frequently than younger children. That shocked me when I heard it and I knew that I wanted to spread the word about this and join this group in encouraging people in this age range to be aware of the symptoms, reduce their risk and work with their doctors to diagnose any problems early before it's too late."

Among the actions the 16-year-old racer plans to take to call attention to the organization are donating half of the winnings each week from his INEX Legends Car racing and changing the Legends number to "39+1".

"Yes, we're actually putting a +1 after the 39 this year," Nick smiled. "We thought it would be a unique and funny way to call attention to the number 40. We'll also be using our meet and greets this year to raise donations and educate people on the importance of the work that 15-40 Connection is doing. I hope all of our fans will go to their site at www.15-40.org and really get to know the facts so they can reduce their risk of getting cancer."
