Staropoli took the lead from Ryan Partridge near the end of the 150-lap chase around the half-mile Irwindale facility.

The field of 26 starters all raced on Goodyear Eagle racing slicks. The tires the West series uses come from the same line Goodyear manufactures for the K&N Pro Series East and for the Canadian Tire Series. The tires are of bias-ply construction.

Staropoli averaged 74.854 mph for the race distance. His margin of victory was 1.55 seconds, a comfortable cushion in the highly competitive West Series.

David Mayhew finished second, followed by former champion Greg Pursley, Brandon McReynolds and Dylan Lupton. There were five lead changes.

Pursley leads the championship standings with 83 points. McReynolds and Lupton are tied for second with 77.

Goodyear employs about 69,000 people at manufacturing plants and facilities in 22 nations. Based in Akron, Ohio, Goodyear is among the largest tiremakers in the world and is the worldwide leader in race tire innovation.
