Ingram Joins Trayler For Superstock 1000 CampaignNews From Morello Racing

THE Morello Racing Kawasaki team has added another rider to its ever-growing camp after signing John Ingram to contest the 2014 Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship.

The Wigan rider will partner Jesse Trayler on the squad’s second Kawasaki ZX-10R machine for the full season when the series gets underway at Brands Hatch next month.

His arrival at the Morello Racing Kawasaki team brings the number of riders up to three, as the team also prepares for its MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship debut with rider Peter Baker.

Ingram is certainly no stranger to Superstock 1000, having made his debut in the class in 2005 before embarking on two full seasons in the series, becoming a regular point scorer. After taking a year out in 2009 he returned to contest a number of club events from 2010 onwards before making his Isle of Man TT debut in 2012.

Last season he returned to the British paddock for the final three rounds of the Motorpoint British Supersport Cup, finishing fifth overall with three wins and five podiums from six race starts.

This year he will also be embarking on his third TT, but is delighted to have lined-up a full season in the UK series.

"It’s brilliant news, I’m so grateful to Steve Buckenham for the opportunity to ride with the Morello Racing Kawasaki team," he said. "Steve is a man who doesn’t do things by halves and I couldn’t think of a better team to be with for my return to Superstock 1000.

"I’m excited about coming back to the series as I have a good record of results there and I think the combination of my knowledge and experience in the class along with having a strong team like this around me, means I can be a regular top 10 or even a top six finisher this year."

Team owner Steve Buckenham added: "I’ve always had every intention of running a two-rider Superstock 1000 team this year, and I’ve spoken to a few different riders over the last few weeks but I felt John was the best man for the job.

"I’ve known John for a few years now and I think he’s a great rider who really knows this series well. I think he will work very well with Jesse and together they’ll do Morello Racing proud. I’m really looking forward to the season getting underway now, we’ve got a strong team and I think we’re going to have a great year."

The Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship gets underway over the Easter weekend, April 18-21, 2014 and runs as part of the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship.
