Ken Stout Racing Ready To Compete In The 2014 Pirelli World Challenge Gts Class

Since the last race of the 2013 season in Houston, the KSR Team has been hard at work prepping its racecar for the upcoming season - a number of significant changes for the FR-S were made during the offseason. While the team has been hard at work at the shop in Brownsburg, driver Stout has been busy turning laps and fine tuning his race craft as an instructor at the prestigious Bondurant School of High Performance Driving, just outside of Phoenix, AZ.

"While 2013 was essentially a developmental year for the team with the FR-S, we pushed extremely hard and by the end of the year had developed a race car capable of running in the top 10 of the World Challenge GTS class," said Team Principal Ken Stout. "Our No. 86 FR-S last year was really only one of a kind in the world. From the stand alone Motec M142 developmental ECU, to the supercharger of which only four in the world existed, the race prepared ABS system and one off calipers and rotors, the intercooler system completely fabricated in-house, and the first fuel cell from Fuel Safe for an FR-S, it's a testament to the hard work our team put in and the tremendous support we received from our partners last year that we now look ahead to 2014. We had serpentine failures twice last year that took the oil pump belt with it resulting in engine failure and that has been addressed. We were good on horse power but we were down on torque and that number has come up to an acceptable level so we are excited to get out there and play with the guys again in GTS."

"We are now eager to take the next step and look to consistently run in the top 10 and push for podiums in 2014."

About Ken Stout Racing (KSR) Inc.: Ken Stout Racing, based out of Brownsburg, IN, is a factory-supported partnership with Scion/TRD. Led by Ken Stout, award-winning motorsports commentator and automotive enthusiast, the team enters its sophomore year in the Pirelli World Challenge GTS class with the Scion FR-S. Former 2010 Pirelli World Challenge Touring Car Drivers Champion Robert Stout will pilot the car.
