Rusty Wallace And Friends Hit The Links 'For The Kids'

Officials of Rusty Wallace, Incorporated announced today that Trump National Golf Club Charlotte will play host to the inaugural Rusty Wallace Golf Classic on May 19th. The first- year event is a celebrity-themed tournament, held to benefit The NASCAR Foundation and their mission of helping children learn how to win, both inside and outside of the classroom, through a variety of educational opportunities.

Each foursome will be paired with a celebrity in the event, hosted by NASCAR Hall of Famer and ESPN analyst, Rusty Wallace. While the roster is still being finalized, stars from across NASCAR and other sports are already joining in to hit the links for the kids.

In addition to Wallace, among those already slated to attend are:
Sterling Sharpe--Five-time NFL Pro Bowler & Packers Hall of Famer
Denny Hamlin--23-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series winner
Dale Jarrett--NASCAR Hall of Famer
Jamie Sadlowski--Two-time RE/MAX World Long Drive Champion
Michael Waltrip--Two-time Daytona 500 Champion
Harold Green--NFL Pro Bowler and USC Hall of Famer
Brendan Gaughan--NASCAR veteran and former Georgetown basketball and football player

Noted Wallace, "I'm really excited about this event. It's going to be a lot of fun-I love playing golf. More than just fun though, this is a great way to support a worthy cause in The NASCAR Foundation. I serve on the foundation's board, so I'm fortunate enough to see all of the great things they do to help children.

"I really want to thank all of the celebrities who are participating to support The NASCAR Foundation. We're close to naming several more big names that are going to make this event even better yet. There are a lot of great companies that have come on board to support us as well.

"A fun day of golf with some great people, one of the most picturesque courses in North Carolina and supporting the kids. It doesn't get much better than that. I hope we can get a lot of folks on board and raise a lot of money for The NASCAR Foundation."
