Scott McLaughlin, who won the overall V8 Supercars 'weekend' at the Formula 1 event in Melbourne two weeks ago, is aiming to keep in the victory fight.

"I am looking forward to Tassie and I'm aiming to take the feeling from winning in Melbourne with me," said McLaughlin. "I think the Volvo will work well here, it has got pretty long straights and a good flow which ought to suit us."

Tasmania means another completely new circuit for Robert Dahlgren, who recorded his best qualifying result so far in Melbourne, just 0.5 seconds from pole position.

"I can't wait to go to Tasmania. It seems to be a real driver's track and looking at last year's footage, it is going to be close. I think that we have a good car and package for the weekend and I hope to continue climbing up the result list," said Dahlgren.

The race weekend starts with practice on Friday, followed by qualifying and two races of 42 laps each on Saturday. The weekend ends on Sunday with a single qualifying session and an 86 lap race starting at 15:55 local time.
