By PaddockTalk.com Staff Writers

Formula One F1 Qualifying session two for the 2014 Malaysian Grand Prix continues under wet conditions. Fastest during Q2 was Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) with a lap of 1:59.041 followed by Sebastian Vettel and his No. 1 Red Bull with a lap of 1:59.399.

Third quick was Nico Rosberg (Mercedes) with Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull), and Nico Hulkenberg (Force India) right behind.

The session was red flagged at the 12:46 mark after Fernando Alonso was side swiped by Toro Rosso rookie Daniel Kvyat under braking. The result was a broken Ferrari steering arm, fortunately Ferrari was able to quickly replace the part and Alonso would continue qualifying.

Knocked out in Q2 was: Daniel Kvyat (Toro Rosso), Esteban Gutierrez (Sauber), Felipe Massa (Williams), Sergio Perez (Sauber), Valtteri Bottas (Williams), and Romain Grosjean (Lotus).

Q1 KO's: Marcus Ericsson (Caterham), Max Chilton (Marussia), Kamui Kobayashi (Caterham), Jules Bianchi (Marussia), Adrian Sutil (Sauber) and Pastor Maldonado (Lotus).

Pirelli have brought new wet tyres for the 2014 season which are able to remove water at the rate of 65 liters a second, up from 60 a second last year.
