2014 Martinsville: NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Results - Busch, Chevrolet Win

By PaddockTalk.com Staff Writers

Kurt Busch and his No. 41 Haas Automation Chevrolet won the 65th Annual STP 500, his 25th victory in 477 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races. This is Busch's first victory and second top-10 finish in 2014. The win Busch also breaks an 83-start winless drought. His last win came at Dover on Oct. 2, 2011. This Busch's second victory and fifth top-10 finish in 28 races at Martinsville Speedway. His first Martinsville win came in October 2002.

Overall, there were 33 lead changes today, a new track record. The previous record was 31, set on April 3, 2011. There have now been six different winners in the first six races this season, the most in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup era and longest streak to start a season since 2003.

Just two tenths behind, Jimmie Johnson and his No. 48 Lowe's Chevrolet posted his 22nd top-10 finish in 25 races at Martinsville Speedway. It is his fourth top-10 finish in 2014.

In third, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his No. 88 Diet Mountain Dew Chevrolet posted his 16th top-10 finish in 29 races at Martinsville Speedway.

Joey Logano and his No. 22 Shell Pennzoil Ford was fourth with Marcos Ambrose and his No. 9 DeWalt Ford rounding out the top five.

Next up for the NASCAR Sprint Cup series will be the first annual visit to Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas.
