Toyota Team Thailand: First Mission 'Qualification Race 24h' At Nürburgring Is Perfectly Done With A Podium Success In Class V3

The first step for the entry at the ADAC Zurich 24h Nürburgring is finished. Toyota Team Thailand, supported by Leipert Motorsport, has shown a perfect performance. The Toyota GT86 was running without any problems and the drivers Nattavude Charoensukhawatana and Nattapong Hortongkam (for both the first experience at the Nordschleife) went very well on the tough racetrack.

The only incident in lap 26 - about 45 minutes to go till the end of the 6h race - was a flat tire in front left, in which some carbon parts were pulled out of the car. But the Toyota GT86 still could reach the box and the team has brought the car in short time back on track.

Despite this scary moment Toyota Team Thailand reached P2 of the class V3, P33 overall. A really good result for the first testsession at the Nordschleife in combination with a new car, drivers and team.

In the upcoming week Toyota Team Thailand will start again in the Eifel to their first VLN race.

Ingo Leipert, Team Owner of the Support Team Leipert Motorsport:
"We are looking forward to the next VLN race, because the conditions concerning the Qualifying race 24h and the VLN race are really different. In the VLN race there will be more starters than at the 24h Qulifyingrace, so the conditions are more like the 24h race.

The 6h Qualifying race was very exciting because of the permanent changes of placements of the participating cars in class V3. One of the Toyota Team Thailand drivers has shown with the best lap-time of the class V3 (10:29.857) during the race, that the Toyota GT86 has much potential.

We are very pleased about the good performance of the car and we will thank Toyota Motorsport as well as the Toyota GT86 Cup Organisation for their assistance after collection the car in Cologne."

Leipert Motorsport will start at Wednesday in direction Monza (I) and will participate as Automobili Lamborghini Racing Team Germany with their two Lamborghini Super Trofeo cars to the first race weekend of the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Europe with the Portuguese female driver Carina Lima (car 21) and the Dutch driver Jeroen Mul (car 22).

A second crew of Leipert Motorsport will start at Thursday again to the Nürburgring with Toyota Team Thailand and the Toyota GT86.
